About the Project

Thanexa is a startup SaaS company, producing work collaboration software (with a few unique twists). They reached out to me for support with creating their website copy.

The founder specifically wanted to develop a unique, recognisable voice that would reach their core target audience of marketing agencies, with the goal of increasing trial users to get feedback and case studies prior to launch.

They also wanted to create an excellent user experience (outside of the product itself) that would help to reduce churn and maximise user retention. Above all, they needed me to communicate how the product is unique to the market and why it works better than the alternatives.

The Work

As part of this project, I used Thanexa in order to collaborate with the founder — and also tested it out in-house to get really familiar with its features. I had a few UX suggestions that (I hope) also helped to shape the product a little!

The first step was to create a detailed brand voice guide, defining things like audience insights, voice of customer findings, USP, taglines, key messages, brand voice characteristics, and style. Then I created website copy, including home, features, use cases, about, resources, pricing, and contact pages. Plus, some additional landing pages — a coming soon page, landing page for marketing agencies, and a VIP sign up page. These pages were optimised for SEO based on keyword research.

The team also engaged me to write some onboarding emails and system emails, and I wrote some microcopy for the system’s chatbot to help onboard new users. Finally, I provided some social media copy for the brand, wrote LinkedIn outreach emails, wrote a high-level explainer video script, and suggested various updates to the founder’s LinkedIn profile.

I greatly enjoyed being involved so early in the startup process — and working closely with a very smart founding team!
